A beautiful and unique rosary honoring St. Gertrude the Great.
St. Gertrude was born in Eisleben Germany. At the age of five she went to go live with the nuns in the Benedictine Abbey of St. Mary of Helfta in Saxony. She was a student and close friend of St Mechtilde. She became a Benedictine nun and devoted herself to her studies, becoming a great theologian. She had her fist vision of Christ at the age of twenty-six. She wrote prayers that spread the devotion of the Sacred Heart. Her writings have been revered by both St. Teresa of Avila and St. Francis de Sales. She is invoked for the Holy Souls in purgatory.
St. Gertrude's feast day is celebrated November 16th. She is invoked for the Holy Souls in purgatory.
This beautiful rosary is made in honor of St. Gertrude and our Holy Souls in purgatory. The Aves and Pters are made from beautiful black faceted beads. Adorning the Paters are beautifully detailed tiny medals cast from vintage pieces of the Blessed Mother and Jesus. The crucifix and St. Gertrude center are cast in bronze from vintage pieces. Above the crucifix is a rose intention bead to pray for our dearly departed. The rosary is 21 1/2" long and comes in a muslin pouch.
Pray on or give this rosary as a reminder of your faith and to call upon St. Gertrude's intercession for the Holy Souls in purgatory.
PRAYER FOR THE HOLY SOULS IN PURGATORY BY ST. GERTRUDE THE GREAT
I offer You the most precious blood
of thy Divine Son, Jesus,
in union with the Masses said
throughout the world today,
for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory,
for sinners everywhere,
for sinners in the universal Church,
for those in my own home,
and in my family. Amen.
