In the tradition of 'Pilgrimage' this rosary honors the pilgrimage to Our Lady of Kibeho.
Kibeho is a remote village in the southern part of Rwanda, where the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to several schoolgirls in 1981 giving the messages to the world to come back to God. The shrine of Our Lady of Kibeho has become a place of worship, peace and conversion. We are all pilgrims as we travel on our faith filled road to be with our Blessed Mother and her Divine Son. This rosary is a wonderful reminder of how powerful praying the rosary is.
This unique heirloom rosary is handmade with colors representing the beauty of Africa. The mysteries of the rosary are engraved on the front and the back of the crucifix. On the rosary center are the seven swords piercing the heart of Mary symbolizing her sorrows. Attached to the crucifix is a medal of Our Lady of Kibeho. The Ave beads are beautiful faceted orange beads. The Paters are hand cast bronze circles representing God. The circle has no beginning and no end, it is a never ending form representing God as eternal.
As you meditate on the Seven Sorrows of the Most Holy Virgin and pray this rosary, may you find comfort in the tears that Mary shed and know that she is always with you.
"When I show myself to someone and talk to them, I want to turn to the whole world. If I am now turning to the parish of Kibeho it does not mean I am only concerned for Kibeho or for the Diocese of Butare, or for Rwanda, or for the whole of Africa. i am concerned with and am turning to the whole world."
